9 times WRC champion, Pikes Peak record-holder, 24h of Le Mans podium finisher, multiple WTCC race winner, and now he has won three stages in four days of his first Dakar. Currently leading it, too.
Dayum, man. That’s some resume you got there!

This guy really is awesome - possibly the best driver in the world. Purely subjective, but I’d put him above all current F1 drivers just because he’s able to do these speeds in less than ideal surfaces, and I believe if he was in a decent F1 car he’d put up competitive lap times, whereas I’m not so sure that would be the case if Vettel, Hamilton or Alonso jumped into a current VW rally car that they would be able to be competitive.
Completely different disciplines, but it’s interesting that he’s competitive on tarmac just as much as the various rally surfaces.
EDIT: now that I’ve looked into it, apparently he’s done some testing in F1 but wasn’t granted a superlicense. I find that surprising and silly - the man knows how to drive.

I continue to maintain that he is some sort of French automaton designed solely to dominate racing.

Yeah and the fact that he came 2nd in the 24h of Le Mans (yes, the circumstances helped) shows that he can drive fast, high-downforce cars. I’m not sure he would be a F1 World Champion, but the fact that he could be decent at it is enough awesome. And yeah, if there was some sort of championship with a different discipline each round, he would be a serious contender.

Apparently they’ve come up with a version 2.0, they’re calling it the Ogier.
